Day by Day detailed 8 Days Bush and Beach Kenya Holiday itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Hell’s Gate National Park

You’ll be picked up from the airport or hotel in Nairobi from where you will embark on a drive to Lake Naivasha with a stop at Hell’s Gate. Hell’s Gate National Park is a unique safari park in Kenya, home to some amazing wildlife species. There are over 100 species of birds in Hell’s Gate National Park, among them are vultures, verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards and swifts among others. The commonly spotted wildlife in the park includes; African buffalos, zebras, elands, hartebeests, Thomson’s gazelle, and baboons among others. Enjoy a wildlife sighting before continuing to Lake Naivasha.

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake that is a popular tourist spot in Kenya especially those looking for birdlife or on Kenya Birding safaris. You will arrive in Lake Naivasha and spend the rest of your day at leisure. (There is an optional boat safari available here at extra fees).

Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru National Park

Today early in the morning after breakfast, you’ll be picked up and then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is known all over the world for its flamingos, it is alkaline and recognized as being one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Besides abundant birdlife, there are several wildlife species living in the park including the endangered whitw and black rhinos.

There are more than 40 black and 60 white rhinos in Lake Nakuru, making it one of the best places to visit to see these endangered species. You will arrive in Lake Nakuru in time for lunch, have lunch and then go for an afternoon game drive in the park. Expect to spot different wildlife including lions, buffalos, rhinos, and zebras among others.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

Today following an early morning breakfast, you’ll leave for Masai Mara with your packed lunch. Masai Mara National Reserve is well known for its black-manned lions, as well as its abundant resident wildlife (wildebeests and their entourage). If you are looking to explore the famous African Big Five Animals on Safari in Africa, Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya is a must visit.

You will witness large numbers of wildlife during your morning and evening game drives. Wildlife safaris here are remarkable as you will enjoy witnessing from the cheetahs that seek shelter from the hot sun under vehicles or those that climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For bird enthusiasts, almost 500 species have been recorded, including 16 species of eagles, many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds. Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you’ll go for a full-day game drive adventure with packed lunch provided at your lodge. Spend the whole day on a game drive safari in Masai Mara National Reserve. Explore the vast Mara plains where you will enjoy wildlife viewing on your safari vehicle. You will spot from the African Big Five animals to the wild’s greatest show on earth the Wildebeest Migration. After your action-packed game viewing, you will later drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Diani Beach

You will wake up at 6:00 a.m. for a sunrise game drive in Masai Mara before embarking on your transfer to Diani Beach. After an early morning game drive in the Mara Plains, you will drive back to your lodge for breakfast and then depart to Mombasa for some days of relaxation and memorable experiences. As you drive to Nairobi, you will enjoy Kenya’s amazing landscapes. You will have your lunch on the way to (en route). In the afternoon, you’ll head to Nairobi train station where you will take your train to Mombasa. Upon arrival at Mombasa, you will be driven to your beach hotel.

Day 6-7: Diani Beach
