Detailed day by day 8 Days Family Safari in Kenya itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi

You will arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where you will be met by your driver guide who will then transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi. On the way your guide will brief you about your 8 Days Family Safari in Kenya. You will arrive in your hotel and check-in.

Day 2: Nairobi Touring

Today you will wake up and enjoy some sightseeing around Nairobi, depending on your interests. You will visit various tourist spots, such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you can interact with elephants; the Giraffe Center, for a hands-on giraffe encounter and educational experience on giraffe conservation; and/or the Kazuri Bead Factory, established as a women’s work cooperative. Your day will be filled with learning experiences as you explore the charming Nairobi city.

After your adventure, you will be driven back to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

 

Day 3: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru

Today you will wake up in the morning and have breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, after breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Lake Nakuru National Park for your next adventure on this 8 Days Family Safari in Kenya. You will arrive in time of lunch. Check in your lodge, have lunch and a short relaxation before heading for an evening game drive in the park.

Day 5: Maji Moto Maasai “Olpul” Bush Camping

Today’s adventure will take us on a trek across the vast plains to a serene forest bush campsite. Upon arrival, we will immerse ourselves in the rich Maasai culture by participating in the construction of a traditional temporary camp. As the day transforms into night, we will have the unique opportunity to sleep under the twinkling stars, nestled in traditional leafy beds and provided with cozy sleeping bags.

 

The highlight of the evening will be the traditional “Olpul” goat slaughtering ceremony, where we will join warriors and elders in this significant cultural practice. As the campfire crackles and dances, we will be treated to captivating stories, soul-stirring songs, and meaningful blessings. To complement the experience, we will savor the ceremonial local brew, meticulously crafted from aloe root, honey, and indigenous herbs, reserved for special celebrations.

Throughout the night, we will be under the watchful protection of Maasai warriors, ensuring a safe and immersive experience.

Day 6: Maasai Mara Wildlife Reserve

Following breakfast you will depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve. The Masai Mara National Reserve is a well-known destination that requires little introduction. Its wildlife-filled savannahs are a familiar sight to anyone who has seen nature documentaries. This extraordinary ecosystem is supported by reliable rains and abundant vegetation, providing a home for millions of herbivores. The Mara is home to wildebeest, zebras, impalas, elephants, Masai giraffes, and several species of gazelle. The high concentration of game in the area also supports a large number of predators, including cheetahs, leopards, and the highest lion densities in the world. Arrive in Masai Mara in time for lunch, have lunch, and a short relaxation before going for an evening game drive. Later return to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Full Day Maasai Mara Safari

Today after an early morning breakfast, you will head for a morning game drive searching for the famous African Big Five animals and the world’s renowned mammal migration, Wildebeest Migration. You will enjoy unbeatable wildlife watching as you drive in pop-up roof safari vehicles allowing you to see and take photographs of wildlife. You will spot several wildlife species including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and hyenas among others. You will also spot various bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and a short relaxation,

After lunch and relaxation, you will head out for another game drive (evening game drive) in the Mara looking out for more sightings. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Return to Nairobi

Today you will wake up lazily and have breakfast before transferring back to Nairobi. You will be driven back to Nairobi. You will have lunch en-route. Your driver guide will drop you off at your preferred drop off point.
