Day by Day detailed 8 Days Birding Safari in Kenya itinerary
Day 01: Pick up from Nairobi and transfer to Lake Magadi for bird watching
Your drive guide will meet you at Nairobi from where you will embark on a transfer to Lake Magadi to start your 8 Days Birding Safari in Kenya. You will arrive in the afternoon and head straight out for your birding experience in Lake Magadi. Lake Magadi is located in the southern part of Kenya, one of the major birding sites in Kenya. Lake Magadi is a shallow soda lake located within the Rift Valley area. The Lake attracts a variety of bird life including pelicans, and flamingos among others.
This area is known to host more than 100 different bird species including the stunning Chestnut-banded plover, Northern Crombec, Branded Parisoma, White Bellied Canary, Cut-Throat, Blue-capped Cordon bleu, Crimson-rumped waybill, Grey wren warbler, Taita Fiscal, Fischer’s Starling, Decken’s Hornbill, and Fischer’s sparrow-Lark among others. Today very early in the morning your driver guide will pick you up at your hotel in Nairobi (After Breakfast) and drive you to Lake Naivasha for your next birding experience in Kenya on this 8 Days Birding Safari in Kenya. You will enjoy scenic views of the countryside as you drive from Nairobi to Naivasha, home to over 450 bird species. Lake Naivasha is located 80 Kilometers northwest of Nairobi. The area is a recognized Ramsar site, listed as a wetland of international Importance by the Ramsar Convention.
While on your tour here, you will encounter various bird species including the African Fish Eagles nesting in the surrounding Acacia woodland, Podiceps cristatus, Oxyura maccoa, Anhinga rufa, Casmerodius albus, Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis, Thalassornis leuconotus, Porzana pusilla, Rynchops flavirostris, and the Phalacrocorax carbo, Grey-crested Helmeted-shrike, Basra Reed Warbler, Lesser Flamingo, Red-knobbed Coot, African Spoonbill, and Little Grebe among others. Toda early in the morning have breakfast at your lodge and embark on a transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park for more Kenya birding safari experience. Lake Nakuru National Park is a popular birding spot in Kenya, regarded as the world’s greatest ornithological spectacle on Earth by avid birders. This safari park is famous for its flocks of lesser flamingos that count upto millions – which flock the lake shores and create a unique and spectacular array of bird life.

Day 05: Transfer from Lake Nakuru to Lake Baringo
Today After breakfast, drive northwards to Lake Baringo where you will arrive in time for a guided birding experience on foot. Lake Baringo is a freshwater lake in Kenya, that attracts a number of birdlife including, Brimstone Canary, little weaver, Goliath Heron, Jackson’s Hemprich’s hornbill and the White-faced scopes among others. You will enjoy guided walking birding experience while here before descending down to the cliffs to look for the unique black throated barbet and the white-faced scope owls.
After your birding experience in Lake Baringo, you will drive to Lake Baringo Country Club for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 06: Transfer to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, drive to Samburu National Reserve for your next Kenya birding experience.
