Day 01: Transfer to Amboseli National Park

On this day, you will experience from the iconic Serengeti National Park to the wonders of the Ngorongoro Crater. Start your day with a sunrise game drive in Serengeti, and drive to the Ndutu plains in the southern part of Serengeti. This area is famous for its high concentration of wildlife species – more popular for wildebeest calving during the calving season. During the calving season, about 800,000 calves are born here each day, attracting a high number of predators that come to take advantage of the weak and vulnerable newborn. The trek can last anywhere between one to two hours depending on the location of these primates. Day 16: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today, you will experience the long-awaited gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Start your day early in the morning with a sumptuous breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters where you will join the groups of other trekkers for a briefing session. You will be grouped and placed in groups of 8 members, each group will be allocated a gorilla family and ranger guides.

It is time to grab your trekking stick and follow the lead of your ranger guide into the thick Bwindi Forest to search for the elusive mountain gorillas. The trek through the forest is thrilling though challenging with uneven terrain and thick undergrowth. After a long trek in the forest, you will be informed by your guide that you have finally located the gorillas. Brace yourself to a life-changing encounter as you slowly come closer to these gentle giants. After lunch, head to the Kazinga Channel for a thrilling boat ride. The Kazinga channel links Lake Edward and Lake George, boasting largest concentrations of hippos in Africa. It also attracts crocodiles, and other wildlife species that can be spotted along the banks. This thrilling boat ride offers an incredible perspective on the park’s wildlife, with many animals coming to the channel to quench their thirst at the hot hours of the day.

Day 19: Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Today you will enjoy one more game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park before you embark on your journey to Kibale National Park where you will enjoy your second primate tracking in Uganda. Start your morning with a sunrise game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring different ecosystems ranging from grasslands to marshlands. You will spot elephants, warthogs, topis, and a variety of bird species before returning to your lodge.

Depart your lodge afterward and drive to Kibale Forest National Park, passing through rural villages, tea plantations, and rolling hills. The Kibale Forest is Africa’s premier destinations for primate tracking popularly known as ‘‘the primate capital of the world’’ boasting a high concentration of chimpanzees and 12 other primates species. Arrive in Kibale and proceed to your lodge. Spend the rest of your day taking in the breathtaking views at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 20: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest – Afternoon visit to Bigodi Swamp Wetland

Today, early in the morning, you will set out for a chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale Forest. Wake up and enjoy breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a transfer to the park headquarters. Join the other visitors at the park headquarters for a briefing session. After the briefing, venture into the dense forest following the lead of your ranger guide to search for the elusive primates on this grand East Africa Wildlife & Primates Tracking Safari. The trek is a thrilling experience that takes you through the thick forest, following the call of chimpanzees in the forest.

Once you locate them, you will be allowed to spend a maximum of one hour observing their behavior—watching them feed, groom each other, and swing from branch to branch. After your time with the chimps elapses, return to the starting point. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a community run conservation area, rich in biodiversity with numerous primate species such as red colobus monkeys and an impressive array of birdlife, including the iconic Great Blue Turaco. After your adventure here, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 21: Transfer to Kampala City – Evening Relaxation

Today you will embark on a transfer to Kampala city. After an early breakfast, begin your road transfer to Kampala City, a journey that lasts for about 7 – 8 hours. You will enjoy the scenic views along the way, with opportunities to stop at local markets for souvenirs and snacks as you wind up this 22 Days East Africa Wildlife and Primate Tracking safari. Arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon and proceed to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 22: Departure

Today you will wake up at leisure at your hotel and enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Depending on the time of your flight, you will directly transfer to the Airport or take a lazily rest in your hotel room. Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
