Day 1: Exploring Nairobi National Park 

On the first day of this 7 Days Kenya Group tour, you’ll be picked up from your preferred location in Nairobi and transferred to the Nairobi National Park for your first adventure on this tour. By 7:00 am, you’ll be in the park ready to explore the park. You’ll enjoy a game drive in the park searching for the big cats that are commonly sighted during the early hours of the day. Despite its proximity to the city, Nairobi National Park is a great wildlife destination and you’ll encounter even the elusive big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards during the game drive. You’ll also encounter various other mammal species, including zebras, impalas, and eland on your game drive. As it nears mid-morning, continue exploring the park, driving through the riverine and acacia woodland for opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, baboons, and buffalo among other wildlife;

You’ll have a lunch break at a picnic site where you’ll enjoy your meal. After lunch continue with your exploration of this park. Although during the hot hours of the day animals are likely to be resting in the shade, it is also early afternoon also offers an opportunity for birdwatching in the park. You’ll explore various sites in the park. As the golden hour kicks in, and the sun reduces, animals become active again, presenting you an opportunity to witness some of which you might have missed during the morning game drive. After the game drive, you’ll be driven to a booked accommodation facility in Nairobi for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to ‘game paradise’, the Masai Mara

Early in the morning following breakfast, depart your lodge in Nairobi and embark on the long journey (225 km) to Masai Mara National Reserve. This journey takes between 5 to 6 hours. You’ll drive either via the Ngong Road or the Lang’ata Road from Nairobi. Ascend to the Great Rift Valley where you’ll have a stop at the viewpoint near Mai Mahiu. While here you’ll have a chance to see the stunning view of the scarpment and valley below. Proceed with your journey from here, drive to Narok Town as you enjoy the scenic views of the beautiful farmlands and small towns. You’ll pass through the Suswa before arrive at Narok, the largest Maasai Town along the route.

You can have a little stretch hear and for those who wish to use the washrooms, can have an opportunity at this point of your journey. From here, you’ll continue with your journey to Masai Mara National Reserve on a bumpy murram road. Arrive in the park and proceed to your booked safari lodge. Check in for lunch and a short rest.

In the afternoon, embark on an afternoon game drive to introduce yourself to this iconic safari Reserve and opportunities for witnessing wildlife and its stunning scenery. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Game viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve 

Today, you’ll spend a full day exploring the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve. By 6:00 am you’ll be having breakfast at your lodge and by 6:30 am you will have set off for your full day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve. At sunrise, you’ll have a great opportunity to witness wildlife while they are most active, with opportunities to witness the nocturnal as they go back to their hideouts.

Your driver guide will take you to some of the most popular wildlife hotspots in the reserve for opportunities to witness different species. If travel is well timed (in the season of wildebeest migration) you’ll follow various wildlife migration routes for opportunities of witnessing this natural spectacle unfold. As it nears lunchtime, you’ll drive to a picnic lunch point where you can enjoy your packed lunch.

After lunch proceed with adventure in the reserve. Later in the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Leave early morning for a game drive to Lake Nakuru Lodge just on the shores of Lake Nakuru

Leave early morning for a game drive to Lake Nakuru Lodge just on the shores of Lake Nakuru. After lunch take an afternoon game drive along the shore where you may spot the elusive recently introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, leopard, and many species of birds. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

Days 5& 6: Transfer to Amboseli National Park with a close view of the legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro

Transfer to Amboseli National Park with a close view of the legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro. This is home to the proud and brightly painted Masai tribe.

The acacia woodlands and grasslands of the park harbour plenty of games including lions, hyenas, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeest, and zebras. A game drive follows a lunch in the park.

Spend the second-day game viewing and the hot hours of the day at your lodge. The two overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 7 of 7 Days Kenya Group Holiday Tours: Drive or fly back to Nairobi

Take breakfast, drive or fly back to Nairobi. After lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant transfer to the airport for your homebound flight.

For those with a late-night flight out, an optional day room can be reserved for you to relax and freshen up before you depart.
