Detailed 9 Days Classic Uganda Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport

Arrival at Entebbe Airport

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our representative will meet and greet you and transfer you to Kampala overnight.

Day 2: The marvelous Murchison Falls on the Nile

Travel from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, leave Kampala heading northwest. Optional: Visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a nature walk to see the rare rhinos in the wild.

Lunch en-route. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, with a brief stop on the top of the falls, where you can see the Niles perfected beauty and marvel as it squeezes through a seven-meter canyon. The 43-meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in the spray. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: The boat cruise on the River Nile

Full Day Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls National Park

Today we drive through the Northern part of the park for a game drive and take photographs of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, and if you are lucky, the leopards, plus a variety of bird species.

After lunch, proceed for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. This is an opportunity to see the amazing hippos and crocodiles along the riverbanks. Return for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Fort Portal in the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon

Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park

Transfer from Murchison Falls National Park driving Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Lunch en-route.

Drive through Hoima and reach the colorful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon, the Rwenzori. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park

Go for Chimpanzee Tracking in the Morning

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast. Have a game drive en route arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, enjoy the two-hour launch trip on the Kazinga Channel and see the amazing birdlife and a variety of wild animals. An evening drive to the crater lakes region is rewarding. Dinner & overnight.

Day 6: Full Day Adventure in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Full Day Activities in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take an early morning cup of coffee before setting off for a game drive along the Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the park and expect to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and lots of animals and birds. Get back to the lodge for breakfast.

After lunch, drive to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk in search of the habituated chimpanzees and other primates.

The chimps are quite mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but the walk is a great adventure. This gorge is 16 km long on the Rift Valley and 100 meters deep. Dinner & overnight.

Day 7: The tree climbing lions in Ishasha

Wildlife Safari in Ishasha Sector and Proceed to Bwindi Forest

After breakfast, leave for the Ishasha sector of the park for a game drive in search of the tree-climbing lions. Packed lunch. After the game drive proceeds to Bwindi for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: The magic encounter with the mountains gorillas

Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Early breakfast and briefing from the guides before you set off for the mountain gorilla tracking in the Bwindi forest. You need to carry drinking water, packed lunch, a rain jacket, and jungle boots while the rangers will provide you with a walking stick.

Gorilla tracking is enriching and rewarding as you walk through the thick rain-forest. After tracking, set off on a scenic journey to Kabale through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. An area referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 9: The fabulous scenery of Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi Adventure and Drive Back to Kampala

Our day starts with a two-hour boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi around the various islands on the lake for bird viewing, sightseeing, and discovering the sites of the Bakiga culture.

Return to Kampala with lunch en route. Along the way you will see Ankole long-horned cattle, banana plantations, drum makers, papyrus swamps, roadside barbecue, and friendly people to bargain with, arriving on time for an evening flight back.
