Detailed day by day Kenya Itinerary 8 Days – 8 Days Northern Kenya Safari

Day 01: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Baringo

Your Kenya Itinerary 8 Days or 8 Days Northern Kenya safari starts in Nairobi. Your driver guide will meet you at your hotel, brief you about this tour, and later transfer you to Lake Baringo which is one of the Great Rift Valley Lakes. During the transfer, you will enjoy scenic countryside and beautiful landscapes as you drive through the country northwards.

You will arrive at Lake Baringo in time for lunch and proceed to the lodge for check-in and lunch. You will then have a short relaxation before embarking on exploration of the area on foot in the afternoon. You can also visit the local communities that live near the Lake such as Il-Chamus and Kalenjin for a guided community tour of the village. Afterwards, embark on an exciting evening boat ride in the tranquil lake to spot hippo and various bird species before returning to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 02: Transfer from Lake Baringo to South Horr

Today on your Kenya Itinerary 8 Days, you will wake up and have breakfast at your lodge and then afterwards embark on your transfer to South Horr. As you drive from Lake Baringo to South Horr, you will be amazed by various tribes that you will meet on the way such as the Samburu and Baragoi. You will have stopovers to interact with these tribes where you get to learn more about their ways of life, culture and perhaps witness some traditional practices. You can also visit them in their homesteads.

After these stop overs, you will continue with your journey to South Horr where you will spend your night.

Day 03: Transfer from South Horr to Lake Turkana

Today on your 8 Days Northern Kenya safari, you will ebark on a transfer to Lake Turkana. Wake up early in the morning and have a hefty breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, embark on a transfer to Lake Turkana for an exciting adventure on your Kenya safari holiday. Allong the way you will witness the local settlements of the Turkana People where you will enjoy their views and also visits to some of the homesteads.

Proceed to Lake Turkana where you will have your next adventure during this Kenya Safari holiday. Arrive in Late afternoon and proceed to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 04: Lake Turkana Experience

Today after breakfast you will explore Lake Turkana, immerse in cultural experience in and around the Lake region whereby you visit the homesteads of the Turkana people for cultural encounters. You will enjoy local traditional dances and social interaction with these amazing people. While here, you can also go for a thrilling boat rides on Lake Turkana, enjoy 2 hours fishing on the tranquil lake among other experiences. After your cultural and thrilling exploration of the region, you will later return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 05: Transfer from Lake Turkana to Samburu National Reserve

Today Following Breakfast, you will depart your lodge in Lake Turkana and drive to Samburu National Reserve. The journey is about 6 hours from Lake Turkan to Samburu. Along the way, you will enjoy scenic countryside and landscapes. You will arrive in Samburu in the afternoon and proceed to your lodge for check in. You will have relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 06: Exploring Samburu National Reserve

Today following breakfast, you will embark on a full day game drive in Samburu National Reserve. The Samburu National Reserve is one of the popular safari destinations in Kenya for wildlife viewing. This safari reserve has vast expanse of remote pristine wilderness that borders the Ewaso Ng’iro River. Samburu is home to abundant wildlife including the gravy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, gerenuk, beisa oryx, elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs among others. The Reserve is also a great birding destination, with up to 450 different bird species recorded here. You will explore the reserve on game drive spoting various wildlife species and bird life. After your adventure, you will return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 07: Transfer from Samburu to Sweetwaters

After breakfast in the morning depart Samburu for Sweetwaters, a Private Sanctuary. Arrive for check in and lunch at the luxurious camp which is set amidst total wilderness in a private ranch and Chimpanzee sanctuary.

Spend the afternoon exploring the game sanctuary in the company of your guide.

Day 08: Transfer Back to Nairobi

Today after breakfast in the morning, you will drive back to Nairobi. Arrive in time for lunch, and proceed to a local restaurant. After lunch, you have the rest of the day at leisure before transfer to the Airport for your next flight.
