Detailed 8 Days Kenya Safari Tours
Day 1: Nairobi
Welcome to Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya! Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your tour guide who will transfer you to your hotel for check-in. After some rest, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Nairobi’s attractions, which may include visits to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you can see orphaned baby elephants being cared for, and the Giraffe Centre, where you can feed and interact with endangered Rothschild giraffes. You can also visit the Karen Blixen Museum, which is the former home of the famous Danish author of “Out of Africa.” In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to your hotel for overnight.
Day 2 & 3 of 8 Days Kenya Safari Tours: Nairobi – Meru National Park
On Day 2, after breakfast, you’ll depart Nairobi and travel to Meru National Park, located in the central part of Kenya. This lesser-visited park is known for its diverse landscapes, including lush forests, swamps, and riverine habitats. It is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and rare species like the Grevy’s zebra and the reticulated giraffe. Enjoy thrilling game drives in the park on both days, exploring its natural beauty and abundant wildlife. You’ll have the opportunity to spot numerous bird species as well, as the park boasts a rich birdlife. In the evenings, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 & 5 of the 8 Days Kenya Safari Tours: Laikipia Plateau
After breakfast on Day 4, you’ll leave Meru National Park and head to the stunning Laikipia Plateau. Laikipia is a vast highland area known for its picturesque landscapes, rolling plains, and abundant wildlife. The region is home to a mix of privately owned ranches, community conservancies, and wildlife reserves that work together to protect the area’s biodiversity. Here, you can enjoy a range of activities, including game drives, guided bush walks, and even camel safaris. The diverse wildlife includes elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs, along with various bird species. You’ll spend two days exploring the wonders of Laikipia and immersing yourself in the unique wilderness experience.
Day 6 & 7: Masai Mara National Reserve
Next, on Day 6, you’ll head to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. The Masai Mara is known for its incredible wildlife sightings, especially during the annual wildebeest migration, where millions of wildebeests and other animals cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. While the migration timing may vary depending on the time of year, the Mara never fails to impress with its abundant resident wildlife, including the Big Five (elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion, and rhino). Over the two days in the Mara, you’ll enjoy extensive game drives, guided by expert trackers and guides, as well as relaxing at your lodge or camp in this stunning Savannah landscape.
