Detailed 17 Days Breathtaking African Safari

Day 1: Arrive in Kigali City

On your arrival at the Kigali International airport, you will be picked and be transferred for the Covid-19 test (60$ per person) and transfer to your hotel as you wait for your results.

You will travel to Volcanoes National Park the following day. The park is known for its ultimate primate safaris where tourists will get to see a number of primate species.

 

Day 2: City Tour, Genocide Memorial Visit, Visit the Dian Fossey Center, Cultural Village Tour

After breakfast, we drive back to Kigali and embark on a city tour visiting the Genocide memorial site which gives a brief history of the country you are visiting.

After that, you will drive northwards to Volcanoes National Park. On your arrival in Musanze, you will visit the Dian Fossey Center. You will have lunch on the way, after lunch, you will visit the community cultural Village to enjoy the Rwandan culture including the traditional dance.

 

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking, Drive to Lake Kivu


After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together with your trekking gear and drinking water and ascend in the forest to track the golden monkeys.

While participating in golden money trekking you will get to find out interesting facts about golden money that will make your Rwanda tour interesting.

After lunch you will drive to a scenic lake Kivu bordering Rwanda and DR Congo, you will En-route to test again for Covid for your required Covid results on your departure date, it should be valid for 72hours ( US $50 per person), After reaching the lake you will enjoy the rest of your evening at the lakeside.

 

Day 4: Morning Activities, Drive Back To Kigali, Flight to Uganda

This morning after breakfast you will do either the Kayaking or boat ride on Lake Kivu and drive back to Kigali for your departure flight to Uganda. On your arrival in Uganda, you will be picked by our 17 Days Breathtaking African Safari Acacia Safaris representative with your name printed on an A4 paper from Entebbe International Airport, you will take a covid-19 test, be transferred to African Roots Guest House Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 5: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park, Top of fall


After the breakfast, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park. The vehicle leaves you near the falls and you can hike from the top of the falls to bottom. It is an exciting experience that brings you very close to the rushing whitewater as it squeezes itself through the narrow crevice below.

The resulting mist from the turbulence often produces rainbows.

 

Day 6: Morning Game Drive, the Boat Cruise, Evening Game Drive

Embark on an early morning game drive on the Northern bank where your 17 Days Breathtaking African Safari guide will help you spot a great number of animals and birds. After the morning game, you will end back to the lodge for lunch and rest till 2pm for an afternoon boat ride.

You will 17 Days Breathtaking African Safari upstream by boat to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls. There you can marvel at toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch you may also see elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kobs. This is also the habitat for many bird species.

You will have the evening game drive to spot other animals which you might have missed during the morning drive.

 

Day 7: Travel to Kibale National Park, Explore Kyaninga Crater Lake

After breakfast, you will be travel from Murchison Falls National park, driving Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Drive through Hoima, then Kyejonjo district and reach the colorful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori. You will arrive at Kyaninga Lodge time for lunch. Kyaninga Lodge is located on the top of the Kyaninga Crater Lake.

 

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking, Visit the Sempaya Hot Springs


The tracking will start early and takes about two to three hours, depending on the location of the chimps. After the trek you will go back to the resort for lunch and you will drive to Sempaya hot springs which are the main attraction of this park and our 17 Days Breathtaking African Safari highlight. At the springs, you will witness water boiling it’s self-using the natural forces. The strength and hotness of the springs are amazing as one can boil eggs and matooke in a few minutes, its ready to eat.

 

Day 9: Visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves, Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park,Boat Ride, Game Drive

After breakfast, then you will visit the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves and the three surrounding explosion Crater Lakes. This makes it a most interesting day adventure and can be done while staying in Fort portal. A side-trip to the Amabere Caves and the three nearby Crater Lakes will be a time of hiking, learning about the local culture and legends, plus a hike around three crater lakes.

On arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will a boat drive. You will have the evening game drive to spot some of the BIG FIVE animals such lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and other animals.

 

Day 10: Travel to Ishasha Sector, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Ishasha sector for the tree climbing lions on the Kasenyi Plains, it is time to go to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth: Ishasha. This area is famous for its tree climbing lions.

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking, Travel to Lake Bunyonyi with 29 Islands


After breakfast, head out with packed lunch to the park head offices with your 17 Days Breathtaking African Safari guide, have a briefing about the Do’s and Don’ts while in the park with gorillas. After head for gorilla trekking through the mist rain forest, trekking can take 2 hours or up to 6 hours and this is based on the location of the gentle giants.

Make sure you carry enough water, sturdy shoes, non-flash cameras, and rain jackets. At the end of this long and exciting adventure, return to our lodge for a well-deserved shower.

Later, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi which twisting water body dotted with 29 islands with various shapes and sized scattered across the water will amaze you.

 

Day 12: Visit Equator, Transfer to Kampala

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala. You will have a stopover at the Equator in Masaka, see where this imaginary line divides our planet into two equal hemispheres. Snacks, souvenirs and photographs may be taken here.

 

Day 13: City Tour, Relax, Covid-19 Test

After breakfast, the doctor will come at the lodge to take your covid-19 test.

You will then head out for the Kampala city tour (capital city of Uganda). We will have lunch from one of the restaurant in town.

 

Day 14: Fly To Kenya, Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, Evening Game Drive


On your arrival, you will check-in at your hotel for lunch, then head out for an evening game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons are all residents here.

Lake Nakuru is one of Kenya’s renowned soda lakes and is world-famous for attracting millions of flamingos to its alkaline shores. Feeding on the abundant algae that grows in the warm and shallow waters, witnessing these legions of fuchsia-pink flamingos is a sight to behold.

You will go for the evening game drive.

 

Day 15: Morning Game Drive, Travel to Maasai Mara National Reserve, Game Drive

After breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru national park, the park is one of Kenya’s renowned soda lakes and is world-famous for attracting millions of flamingos to its alkaline shores. Feeding on the abundant algae that grow in the warm and shallow waters, witnessing these legions of fuchsia-pink flamingos is a sight to behold.

Hardly can a visitor miss to spot the big five. The phenomenal wildebeest migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Maasai Mara is the wonder of the world.

 

Day 16: Morning and Evening Game Drive, Visit the Maasai Village


After breakfast, half-day spend in the park with packed lunch and in search of its well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other animal species.

You will visit Maasai Village after the half day game drive. Evening game drive will be done as you will have more chances of spotting some animals which might have missed during your morning drive.

The Maasai Mara Game Reserve offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe over 450 species of animals has been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes, and elephant

 

Day 17: Travel To Travel to Nairobi, Fly Back Home
