Detailed day by day 6 Days Kenya Wildlife & Rwanda Mountain Gorillas Safari itinerary
Day 01: Nairobi & Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
From Nairobi, Your driver guide will meet you and transfer you to Masai Mara National Reserve to start your multi-border 6 days safari. The journey to Masai Mara starts early at about 7:00 am. You will drive southwards to this real show stopper Reserve for an unmatched wildlife watching experience. Arrive in Masai Mara in time for lodge and check in at your lodge.
Have lunch at the lodge and afterward embark on a thrilling wildlife safari game drive in the evening. The evening game drive will introduce you to the stunning landscapes of the Mara plains with their rich wildlife species. Masai Mara is renowned for its abundant population of lions, leopards, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and African Wild dogs. The grassy plains also support a number of grazer mammals including buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, impalas, Thompson gazelles, giraffes, and elephants among others. On your evening game drive, enjoy viewing these species in their natural habitat. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 02: Exploring Masai Mara National Reserve
Today you will have another opportunity to explore the Mara, to spot all the wildlife you may have missed on your previous game drive. Enjoy watching spotted hyenas, African wild dogs, duikers, cheetahs, African bush elephants, zebras, wildebeests, bushbucks, Masai giraffes, Cape buffaloes, aardvarks, African hares, lions, cheetahs, warthogs, yellow baboons, and leopards among others.
You will drive to the Grumeti and Mara Rivers to catch sight of the dramatic Wildebeest annual migration. Enjoy seeing millions of wildebeests, Zebras, and gazelles as they try to cross the crocodile-infested rivers. This spectacular sighting is further spiced up by the large predators that follow up on the migrating mammals in an attempt to prey on them.
After witnessing the greatness and spectacle of the unforgettable wildebeest migration, drive back to the Lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Day 03: Morning game drive and return back to Nairobi City for flight to Kigali
Today you will wake up in the morning and transfer back to Nairobi for your scheduled flight to Rwanda. Depart Masai Mara immediately after breakfast and drive northwards through the country’s spectacular landscapes. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and have lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport to board your scheduled flight to Rwanda.
The flight is about 2 hours. Arrive at Kigali International Airport where your driver guide will meet you and welcome you to Rwanda. He or she will then drive you to your hotel in Kigali. Spend the rest of your day resting at your hotel.

Day 04: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early in the morning at your hotel and have breakfast. After breakfast, embark on exploring Rwanda’s Kigali City before you transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Yyour driver guide will drive you to various tourist spots within Kigali like Kigali Genocide Memorial Center , and Craft Markets where a collection of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, and Tanzania items can be purchased.
Lunch will be served at your hotel in Kigali. After lunch, depart for Volcanoes National Park, where you will embark on a life-changing mountain gorilla trekking safari. Arrive in Volcanoes National Park and check in at your lodge.
Day 5: Mountain Gorilla trekking Tour in Volcanoes National Park
Today you will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast at your lodge. Your driver guide will be ready to transfer you to the park headquarters where you join other visitor. At the park headquarters, you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will then be divided into groups of eight members and each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek.
You will follow the lead of your ranger guides and trek into the forest to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. The trek can last anywhere between 1 to 4 hours. Upon locating gorillas, you will spend one full hour in their presence, watching them do their daily routine. You will have plenty of opportunities to take photographs and record videos. After one hour elapses, you will return to the starting point or headquarters. Your driver guide will then transfer you to your lodge to refresh up before going for another adventure.
Visit the local communities for a cultural experience in Rwanda. Enjoy entertaining performances and cultural practices. Later return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali City-drop-off at Hotel or Airport
