Day 1: Pick up from Kigali City to Gisenyi

Our representative will meet you at your hotel in Kigali, for the transfer to Gisenyi, a pretty town located on the shores of beautiful Lake Kivu, the main water body of Rwanda. Relax on the beach. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 of 8 Days Rwanda Congo Uganda Safari Tour: Hiking the Nyiragongo Mountain

After an early breakfast, you will be driven to the Rwanda – DRC border, after clearing, you will proceed to Nyiragongo Volcano. When you arrive, the park rangers will take you as you start hiking, this volcano is the world’s most active lava lake and hiking to the top takes you around 4 to 6 hours. The trail to the top of the Volcano is fairly trouble-free though a bit tiring, more often in tough, uncomfortable and hot seasons. Spend the night in tents at the top of the volcano.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast descend back to the starting point, reaching in time for lunch. After lunch drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda side, an evening of relaxing at Ha’Buharo Island with a campfire on request. Dinner and overnight at Heritage lodge,

After breakfast, visit the Orugano rain Forest which has diverse plants and animals and later spend some time interacting with the Batwa (pygmies) community who inhabit parts of the forest and its surrounding areas. Birders will treat themselves with well over 300 bird species recorded. Like Otters, pied kingfishers, swallows among others.

After lunch enjoy a canoe trek on Bunyonyi visiting the major islands and their rich history, but also to a traditional healer and a craft maker who lives on a peninsula with most complete views of the 25-kilometers long lake. If time permits there will be some little energetic hiking. Dinner and overnight Heritage lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Early breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. This is a long but interesting driver that will take you through different homesteads, with spectacular sceneries. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6 of 8 Days Rwanda Congo Uganda Safari Tour: Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Pearl of Uganda

Have an early morning game drive, later return to your lodge for breakfast. After lunch, enjoy the two hours launch trip on Kazinga Channel for amazing birdlife and a variety of wildlife. This evening you can choose to do another game drive or take a nature walk. Dinner & overnight. FB

Day 7: Chimpanzee in Kyambura & visit Katwe Crater Lake

After breakfast you will drive to Kyambura forest. Driving through a grassland area, all of a sudden you come across an amazing gorge covered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the gorge of the Kyambura River in search of wild chimpanzees. After your trek inside the so-called hanging forest, return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch or later in the evening, head to the Katwe crater lake to meet the Ugandans who mine for salt in the lake.

This lake, which is situated just north of the impressive Mweya peninsula, is far too salty to support any wildlife. However, since the 16th Century, it has ensured the survival of the Katwe residents, who spend their days under the equatorial sun, harvesting salt from its milky waters. Enjoy the spectacular drive to Katwe as you look out for wildlife including buffalos and elephants. Look out for Lake Kitagata – fed by salty hot-springs with no wildlife around but the spectacular views. Once you arrive at the salt mines, marvel at the network of paths and huts that have been built across the lake to support hundreds of workers. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 8 of 8 Days Rwanda Congo Uganda Safari Tour: Departure to Kampala

After breakfast, transfer to Kasese Airstrip for your flight to Entebbe international airport.
