Detailed day by day 7 Days Family Safari in Kenya itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where you will be met by your driver. He/she will welcome you to Kenya and then transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi. You will be briefed about this 7 Days Family Safari in Kenya. Arrive in your hotel and check-in.

Depending on your time of arrival, you can embark on a city tour in Kkigali in the afternoon or just spend the rest of your day lazily at your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will have breakfast at your hotel and then embark on a transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park for your adventure. Arrive in Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch and Check in your lodge for lunch and a short relaxation before heading for an evening game drive in the park.

This National Park is popular for its flocks of flamingos, wildlife, and unique landscapes.  Lake Nakuru National Park is flanked by rocky escarpments, pockets of acacia forest, and at least one waterfall, making it gorgeous year-round. If you are an avid birder, you can’t go wrong with Lake Nakuru! You will see over a million flamingos at the lake shores creating a scenic and beautiful array of birdlife. The best spot to have a great view of the park’s scenic array of birdlife is the Baboon cliff.

You will also encounter various wildlife species including; both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos, and endangered Rothschild’s giraffes among others. You will enjoy exploring the park this afternoon before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer from Lake Nakuru to Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp

Today following breakfast, you will drive to Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp. This safari Camp is renowned for its authentic cultural experience in Kenya. Arrive in time for lunch and check in your camp for lunch. After lunch, enjoy Kenya’s diverse cultures that will unleash your imagination of life in Africa. You will spend your day at the cam where you can meet local people, with opportunities to take beautiful photographs and participate in their cultural practices.

Enjoy local culture, wildlife, and the environment, exploring the Loita Hills and Plains. Also spend some time with local people learning new things and better understanding their culture, challenges, and ways they are adapting to outside influences.

Day 4: Maji Moto Maasai “Olpul” Bush Camping

Today you will spend your day at Maji Moto, adventuring across the vast plains to a serene forest bush campsite. immerse yourselves in the rich Maasai culture by participating in the construction of a traditional temporary camp. As the sun goes down and transforms into night, you will have the opportunity to sleep under the twinkling stars, nestled in traditional leafy beds and provided with cozy sleeping bags. This experience is truly unique an one you will live to remember.

 

During your evening time, you will participate in a traditional “Olpul” goat slaughtering ceremony, where you join warriors and elders in this cultural practice. You will have a campfire and dances, you will be treated to captivating stories, and soul-stirring songs. You will wind up the experience with a local brew, meticulously crafted from aloe root, honey, and indigenous herbs, reserved for special celebrations.

You will spend your night in these temporary tents under the watchful protection of Maasai warriors, ensuring a safe and immersive experience.

Day 5: Transfer to Maasai Mara Wildlife Reserve

After breakfast, you will depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arive in Masai Mara in time for lunch and check in at your lodge where you will enjoy your lunch. After lunch, enjoy an evening game drive in the Mara plains where you can spot various wildlife species.  The extraordinary Mara ecosystem is supported by reliable rains and abundant vegetation, providing a home for millions of herbivores and predators.

Among the wildlife you will encounter are the wildebeest, zebras, impalas, elephants, Masai giraffes, and several species of gazelle. The high-concentration herbivores also support a large number of predators, including cheetahs, leopards, and lion. You will also see elephants, buffalo, and many other species. Masai Mara also has a diverse range of bird life for bird lovers to witness.

Day 6: Full Day Maasai Mara Safari

Today, you will spend your day exploring this iconic Masai Mar National Reserve. Following breakfast, you will proceed for a morning game drive searching for the famous African Big Five animals and the world’s renowned mammal migration, Wildebeest Migration.

This is an opportunity to spot all the species that you might have missed the previous day. Enjoy unbeatable wildlife watching as you drive in pop-up roof safari vehicles that allow you to see and take photographs of wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and a short relaxation.

After lunch, embark on another game drive (evening game drive) in the Mara looking out for more sightings. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Return to Nairobi

This day is the last day of your 7 Days Family safari in Kenya. Wake up lazily and have breakfast before transferring back to Nairobi. Lunch will be served on the way and after, you proceed with your journey to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Nairobi, your driver guide will drop you off at your preferred drop-off point(airport or hotel in Nairobi) .
