Detailed Day by Day 8 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari itinerary

Day 01: From Arusha, transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

Your driver guide will pick you up from Arusha and transfer you to Lake Manyara National Park to start your 8 days Tanzania wildlife safari. Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s most famous safari parks, boasting several wildlife species and birdlife, making it a good spot to start your Tanzania wildlife safari.

You will drive to Lake Manyara National Park and arrive in time for lunch. Proceed to your lodge for check-in and have lunch. After lunch, and a short rest at the lodge, embark on an evening game drive to explore the diversity in the park. Among the wildlife species that can be spotted in the park are lions, leopards, and elephants, Lake Manyara hosts one of the largest populations of African elephants.

Day 02: Morning game drive in Lake Manyara and transfer to Serengeti National Park

Wake up and have an early morning breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, embark on a thrilling morning game drive once more in this amazing safari park. You will enjoy from the unique landscape to abundant wildlife. Explore the shallow alkaline lake, dense forests, grassy plains, and dramatic escarpments that add to the stunning beauty of Lake Manyara National Park. You will have the opportunity to spot the famous tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, crocs, giraffes, Zebras, and wildebeests.

After this unforgettable safari experience that combines both stunning sceneries and close encounters with wildlife, you will return to your lodge. You will then Have lunch and prepare for a two-and-a-half-hour drive to the renowned Serengeti National Park. Arrive in Serengeti in the late afternoon and proceed to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 03&04: Serengeti National Park

For these two days, you will adventure Serengeti on Full Day Game drive. Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, depart with your packed lunch and embark on a full-day game drive in the Park. Explore the Central Serengeti, that gives prime opportunities to spot wildlife all year-round, visit the Seronera River Valley to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and a wide variety of antelopes. Adventure this Park while keeping an eye out for the iconic African Big Five Animals (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Buffalo).

You will also explore the southern section of this Park, especially the Ndutu Area for spectacular wildlife Sightings. While at Ndutu, you will have the opportunity to spot thousands of wildebeest, Zebras, and other herbivores as they graze. The large concentration of Herbivores here also attracts a number of predators thus giving you an opportunity to witness a kill in action.

Day 05: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

Today following an early morning breakfast, embark on your last a game drive in Serengeti National Park. This give you opportunity to experience this world renowned safari park one more time while sighting several wildlife species, including those that you might have missed in the previous game drives. After your morning game drive, return to your lodge where you will have lunch.

After lunch, depart Serengeti and drive to the world’s renowned Ngorongoro Cater for your next adventure. Arrive in Ngorongoro in the late afternoon and proceed to your booked safari accommodation for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 06: Exploring Ngorongoro Crater

Today after breakfast, you will descend 600m into the spectacular crater for a full day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is a natural wonder, one of Africa’s most Iconic Safari Destinations for wildlife watching safaris. This Crater is the world’s largest intact Volcanic Caldera, formed over two million years ago as a result of eruption and collapse.

The crater floor offers a diverse habitat for its large wildlife populations ranging form grasslands, savannas, forests, and wetlands. The Crater floor is home to a diverse range of wildlife species including the African Big Five animals (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephants). Other resident wildlife includes; cheetahs, wildebeests, Zebras, giraffes, hippos, and several antelope species. You will enjoy witnessing diversity on your game drive in the craters. After your adventure, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 07: Morning Game drive in Ngorongoro and Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Today you will wake up early in the morning and embark on a thrilling morning game drive in the crater once more to have a recap of this magnificent crater and it diversity. After this short morning game drive, return to your lodge and have breakfast. After breakfast, depart your lodge with packed lunch boxes and embark on a transfer to Tarangire National Park for your next adventure.

Arrive in Tarangire in the Late afternoon and proceed to your lodge. You will have an overnight stay and dinner at your lodge.

Day 08: Tarangire National Park – Arusha

Today following an early morning breakfast, embark on a thrilling game drive in Tarangire National Park. Famous for its large herds of elephants, Tarangire is a superb Safari park to experience unbeatable wildlife sightseeing experience. You will experience from its famous giant baobab trees to the distinctive landscapes, vast grass lands and seasonal swamps.

This National Park is home to remarkable wildlife and birdlife. Tarangire is home to lerge herds of elephants that usually congregate along the river banks. You will also spot several other wildlife species including; lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and various antelope species.

After exploring this charming safari Park, you will return to your lodge. At the lodge, have lunch and prepare for a transfer back to Arusha. At Arusha, your driver guide will drop you off at your preferred drop-off point.
