Detailed Day by day 8 Days Tanzania Wildlife & Uganda Gorilla Safari itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania (Arusha)

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where our representative will meet you and welcome you to Tanzania. You will be transferred to your booked hotel in Arusha where you can relax and unwind from the long flight.

Later in the evening your safari guide will join you at your hotel for a briefing about  your 8 Days Uganda and Tanzania Safari. All the necessary details about this 8 days wildlife and gorilla safari will be provided to you by your safari guide.

Enjoy a delicious meal and have an overnight stay at your hotel in Arusha.

Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

After your first night in Africa, wake up early in the morning and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park where you will have your first adventure on this 8 days Tanzania Safari and gorilla trekking. The journey will not last so long since Tarangire National Park is just about 2 hours drive from Arusha. Arrive in Arusha and proceed for a short morning drive to explore the park’s abundant wildlife.

Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant populations and the giant baobab trees. The elephants in Tarangire will have you excited as they can get so close to your safari vehicles, allowing for close views of these giant animals, just a few meters from your safari vehicle. The National Park is also home to several wildlife species including lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalos, zebras, and various antelope species among others. Enjoy spotting these species on your game drive in the park.

As it comes to time for lunch, you will drive towards your books safari lodge. Arrive at your lodge and check in. Lunch will be served at your lodge and after lunch, have a short rest.

You will embark on an afternoon game drive to have more opportunities for spotting wildlife in Tarangire National Park. As your day comes to a close, return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Visit Lake Manyara National Park & Transfer to Karuru

Wake up early in your lodge and have breakfast. After breakfast, depart for Lake National Park. This short journey is about 1 hour drive. Arrive in Lake Manyara National Park and proceed with a game viewing safari in the park to experience its abundant wildlife. Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its unique tree climbing lions that can be seen lounging on the Acacia branches. Enjoy your game drive through the park exploring various regions to have opportunities to spot different resident wildlife species.

You will have a lunch break for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the park.

After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive in the park for opportunities to witness all other wildlife that you might have missed during your morning adventure in the Park. The experienced driver guide will drive you to wildlife hot spots within the park for opportunities to see lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas, buffalos, and several other species. After your adventure in lake Manyara, you will embark on a transfer to Karutu.

Arrive in the late evening and proceed to your booked lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay

Day 4: Exploring Ngorongoro Crater

Today following an early morning breakfast, descend 600 meters into the iconic Ngorongoro Crater for your next adventure on this Tanzania wildlife and Gorilla trekking tour. The Ngorongoro Crater is a celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world.

The Crater floor is renowned for its large populations of lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos, elephants, cheetahs, hyenas, wildebeest, among other wildlife species. Safaris to the Ngorongoro Crater will grant you opportunities to witness large number of wildlife on your wildlife game drive safaris in Tanzania. Besides the large wildlife numbers, you will also witness the abundant birdlife and natural beauty in the area. You will enjoy exploring this wildlife populated crater on your game drive.

You will have a break for Picnic lunch in the crater. After lunch, continue exploring the crater to experience its unique wildlife and natural beauty. In the late afternoon, you will return to the crater rim where your lodge is located.

Day 5: Transfer to Uganda (Entebbe)

Today you will wake up lazily and have breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your scheduled flight to Entebbe, Uganda. Arrive in Entebbe International Airport where your driver guide will be waiting to receive you and transfer you to your booked hotel around Entebbe Town.

You will spend the rest of your day at your hotel in Entebbe relaxing and unwinding form the flight and unbeatable wildlife experience in Tanzania.

Day 6: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled flight to Kisoro Airstrip. The flight will take about 1 hour and upon arrival, you will be met by your driver guide who will then transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Drive to your lodge and check in. Lunch will be served at the lodge and after lunch, you can enjoy your afternoon at leisure or exploring the surrounding. Dinner will be served at your lodge.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today is the long awaited day of this 8 Days Tanzania Wildlife & Uganda Gorilla Safari. Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your lodge and then proceed with a drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on the upcoming gorilla trekking experience. You will be briefed about the dos and don’t during gorilla trekking and later grouped into groups of 8 members. Each group will be allocated to a gorilla group to trek and the allocation is usually influenced by age and physical abilities of trekkers.

After the allocation, you and your group will follow the lead of your ranger guides deep into the jungle to search for the gorillas. Upon locating these endangered animals, you will be allowed an exclusive 1 hour to view them as this is also a great time to capture videos and photographs for memories.

After the allocated time has elapsed, you will trek back to the starting point where your driver guide will be waiting for you. You will  be driven to your lodge for refreshment and a sumptuous meal.

In the afternoon, there is an optional cultural visit to the nearby Batwa Community for a cultural immersion while in Africa (at an additional cost).

Day 8: Departure

The 8^th day is the final day of this 8 Day gorilla trekking and Tanzania Safari. Wake up and have breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, embark on a transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe.

At Entebbe International Airport, you will connect to your international flight back home.
