Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional Pearl Uganda Safari Tour representative who will assist with your transfer to Papyrus Guest House. Located in a serene environment, this guest house offers a peaceful retreat where you can relax after your journey. Day 2: The Marvelous Murchison Falls on the Nile

Your Pearl Uganda Safari Tour adventure begins early as you depart Entebbe and drive northwest through the historic Luwero Triangle. If you start your journey in the early morning, you’ll have the chance to visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you can observe rhinos in their natural habitat—an exhilarating experience that sets the stage for the wildlife encounters to come. After a refreshing lunch at the Masindi Hotel, continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area, spanning 3,840 square kilometers.

The park is named after the breathtaking Murchison Falls, where the Nile River dramatically plunges 43 meters through a narrow gorge, creating a thunderous roar and a stunning rainbow in the mist. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the top of the falls, marveling at the sheer force and beauty of the Nile as it squeezes through a seven-meter-wide canyon. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures.

Day 3: The Boat Cruise on the River Nile

The third day of your Pearl Uganda Safari Tour begins with an early morning game drive in the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park. As you traverse this diverse landscape, keep your camera ready to capture sightings of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs, and, if you’re fortunate, lions and leopards. The park is also home to an impressive variety of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. After a hearty lunch, embark on a two-hour boat cruise along the Nile River, taking you to the base of the mighty Murchison Falls. This cruise offers an unparalleled opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, and a plethora of wildlife along the riverbanks. As you return to the lodge, the golden light of the setting sun creates the perfect backdrop for evening relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay are again at Pakuba Safari Lodge, where you can savor the memories of an unforgettable day.

Day 4: Fort Portal on the Shadow of the Mountains of the Moon

On Day 4, you will leave Murchison Falls National Park and head southwest, journeying through the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley. This scenic drive offers breathtaking views as you pass through Hoima and on to Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro Kingdom. Fort Portal is nestled in the shadow of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori Mountains, known for their mystical beauty and rugged peaks. The town is a vibrant blend of history and culture, offering a refreshing change of pace. Upon arrival, you’ll check into the Mountains of the Moon Hotel, a charming establishment that offers comfort and relaxation. The evening is yours to explore the town or simply enjoy the tranquil surroundings as you prepare for the next leg of your safari.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Pearl of Uganda

After a hearty breakfast, set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular and biodiverse reserves. En route to the lodge, enjoy a game drive that introduces you to the park’s rich array of wildlife. After lunch, embark on a two-hour launch trip along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This cruise is a highlight of the safari, offering close-up views of a variety of wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and a multitude of bird species that flock to the channel’s shores. As the day draws to a close, take an evening drive through the crater lakes region, where the stunning scenery and rich biodiversity provide a fitting end to the day. Day 6: The Habituated Chimpanzees of Kyambura Gorge

Day 6 begins with an early morning game drive along the Kasenyi track and Queen’s Mile, offering another chance to spot the park’s resident lions, elephants, buffalos, and a variety of other wildlife. After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a relaxing morning before heading to Kyambura Gorge for an afternoon forest walk. The gorge, a 16-kilometer-long chasm in the Rift Valley, is home to a group of habituated chimpanzees. Accompanied by Pearl Uganda Safari Tour experienced rangers, you will trek through the forest in search of these fascinating primates, as well as other wildlife and bird species that inhabit this unique ecosystem. The steep sides and dense vegetation of the gorge create a dramatic setting for this adventure, making it a memorable highlight of your safari. Return to Twin Lakes Safari Lodge for dinner and a well-earned rest.
