The Rapids & Route: What to Expect During White Water Rafting on the Nile
Rapids Grades & Variations
The Nile River is known for its strong Rapids graded Grade 4 and Grade 5 and when your adventure, you will be assigned to the ones you will manage. The activity is only done in groups of about 6 – 8 people and requires teem work. There were recorded historical Grade 6 rapids around the Itanda Falls on the Nile River. The rapids along the Nile River have names such as the Overtime, Big Brother, and Hair of the Dog among others. During the allocation, you will be assigned the grade that best suites your abilities for example Grade 3 rapids are usually allocated to groups or families with less experienced and children. The Grade 3 Rapids route avoids the biggest rapids on the River ensuring that you are safe during this adventure.
Rafting Routes & Distance
If you are looking forward to spending the whole days rafting on the Nile River in Jinja, expect to cover a minimum of about 25–26 km of this river. Rafting usually starts from the calmer water to allow first timers to settle in, then builds as you progress downstream. As you sail on this river, you will have an opportunity to witness the stunning islands and opportunities to swim, relax, even lunch by the riverside.
