Take a boat trip to Ngamba Island, home to a sanctuary dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned chimpanzees. Ngamba Island, located about 23 kilometers off the Entebbe mainland, is run by CSWCT and is home to orphaned and rescued chimps. Because rescued chimps have difficulty integrating into their native environments, they are brought to this island as a rescue measure. To educate people on how to conserve our close cousins, both morning and afternoon sessions are held to transport people to the island to see chimps feeding and to hear from one of the caregivers about the state of chimps in Africa, threats to their conservation, what has been done and what should be done. Morning boat tours leave at 8:45 a.m., and afternoon day trips leave from Entebbe mainland at 12:45 p.m. Include Ngamba Island in your Entebbe City itinerary.
Embark on a bird-watching adventure at Mabamba Swamp, a haven for bird lovers. Take a boat ride through the swamp, where you can spot the iconic shoebill stork and other rare bird species.

The wetlands is home to around 300 bird species, including many globally endangered species, seven of Uganda’s twelve Lake Victoria biome-restricted species (notable among them is the Papyrys Gonolek), and numerous wetland specialties. Every year from October to March, the wetlands attract large numbers of Palearctic migrants.
The simplest approach from Entebbe is via the Nakiwogo landing site, where you take a 10-minute ferry trip to Kasanje landing and then drive for about 20 minutes to Mabamba, going through cultivations and open fields with an abundance of garden birds.
