Day 1 of the 5 Days Gorilla Safari Rwanda Cultural Safari Gorilla Tour: Arrival

You will be welcomed by your driver/guide and transferred to the hotel in Kigali. Overnight at The Manor Hotel.

Day 2 of the 5 Days Gorilla Safari Rwanda Cultural Safari Tour: Musanze

After breakfast, Kigali to reach Ruhengeri at the gate of Parc National des Volcans. The journey is full of beautiful sceneries, through the cultivated terraced hills of Kigezi and Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 3 of the 5 Days Gorilla Safari Rwanda Cultural Safari Tour: Mountain Gorilla tracking

Early morning you enter the gorilla sanctuary of Parc National des Volcans, the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes.

Trekking is a demanding but rewarding experience. Ensure you bring with you enough water and the packed lunch. The time spent in the forest depends on the movements of the primates in their natural environment.

If time permits, you can enjoy an afternoon at the twin crater lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 4 of the 5 Days Gorilla Safari Rwanda Cultural Safari Tour: The beach of Lake Kivu in Gisenyi

After breakfast, leave Ruhengeri and proceed to Gisenyi, a pretty town located on the shores of beautiful Lake Kivu, the main water body of Rwanda. Relax on the beach. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Day 5 of the 5 Days Gorilla Safari Rwanda Cultural Safari Tour: Kigali and the culture of Rwanda

After breakfast, you will drive to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Depending on the time schedule, enjoy a city tour around Kigali (optional) before your transfer to the airport for departure.

BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK; Bwindi Impenetrable national park, 331 km, is located in South Western Uganda, on the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley, at an altitude range from 1.160 m to 2.607m. This is a real tropical rainforest, spread over a series of steep ridges and valleys. It is regarded as one of the most biologically diverse forests in Africa.

In the local language “Bwindi” (from “Mubwindi”) means “dark place”, referring to the impenetrable nature of the swamp located southeast of the Park, according to legends. MGAHINGA GORILLA NATIONAL PARK; Mgahinga National Park, only 38 sq. km in size, is the Ugandan part of the bigger Virunga Conservation Area, which is a jointly protected area with Congo and Rwanda.

It includes three extinct volcanoes: Mount Sabinyo (3.669 m.), Mount Gahinga (3.474 m.), and Mount Muhavura (4.127 m.). “Mgahinga” is named after Mount Gahinga plus the initial of Mount Muhavura. The vegetation is the one typical of Afromontane areas, with a consistent bamboo forest.

There are 76 mammal species recorded, including buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks, golden monkeys, leopards. 115 bird species have been recorded, including Rwenzori turaco, crowned hornbill, black kite, and crowned crane.
