Day 1 of the Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Trekking tour 3 days Uganda safari: Leave Kampala City for Kibale Forest National Park
- Stop At: Kibale ForestNational Park located in the Western Region of Uganda
The safari starts with our tour guide driver picking you from the Airport or Kampala City for a 5 – hours drive to Kibale Forest National Park which is located in the Western region of Uganda. You will drive along Mubende – Fort-portal road which offers you captivating scenery to any traveler.
Fort-portal lies in the shadow of the heroic Rwenzori mountains which form an interesting backdrop to the spectacular volcanic landscape. While still in Fort-portal city, you will have a quick look at the royal tombs, the palace uphill, and the ancient ‘Amabere ga Nina Mwiru’ cave.
You will then continue on the drive to your main destination – the Primate Capital of the World well-known as Kibale Forest National Park. Once you are there, you can decide to retire to your chosen accommodation or you can go for a nature walk to survey your surroundings.
Apart from the chimpanzees, there is the fabulous rain-forest, the peculiar tree and plant species, the abundance of rare bird and mammal species, moths and butterflies, the radiance of life and nature at its best.

Day 2: Whole day doing Chimpanzee Trekking activity and Tracking other primates in Kibale Forest National Park
- Stop At: Kibale Forest National Park located in the Western Region of Uganda
After having delicious early morning breakfast at the lodge, our safari guide will drive you to the Kibale forest park headquarters. Here you will have a briefing from experienced park rangers on how to conduct yourself for a prosperous chimpanzee trekking tour.
You will then enter into the jungle to begin your chimpanzee tracking expedition tour. Up to 3 large groups of chimpanzees have been habituated for the tracking adventure tour. You will be able to find the huge creatures without much strain.
You will watch the chimpanzees in their natural habitat swinging from one branch to another in the highest canopy above the forest floor, playing, feeding, and bonding.
If interested, you can choose to have a guided nature walk activity through the Bigodi wetlands the whole day. Bigodi swamp is endowed with captivating bird species, primates, and mammals.
Among the primate species include the Red colobus monkeys, Gray-cheeked mangabey’s, L’hoest monkeys, Vervet monkeys, baboons, blue monkeys, and occasional Chimpanzees.
