Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda through Kigali International Airport

This particular journey starts in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Start your morning early with a 6-hour drive to Nyungwe forest national park.

Tourists prefer to take a stopover at the ethnographic museum in Huye where they can learn about the history and culture of Rwanda through time.

You will arrive at Nyungwe forest park in the evening and check into your lodge of preference for dinner and overnight. (FB).

Day 2: Go for Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

On your trial, you will be able to see several creatures such as; the black and white Colobus monkey, Vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and many other mammals as well as butterflies and birds within the forest.

When you finally allocate one of the Chimpanzee families, you will observe their behavior in their natural habitat. After the Chimpanzee trekking, take on a canopy walk or return to your lodge and relax.

Nyungwe forest national park is a Chimpanzee tracking safari destination in Rwanda and also harbors a number of primates, wildlife, and bird species. The park Extends 970 km across the majestic hills of southeast Rwanda, Nyungwe Forest National Park is the largest block of montane forest in East or Central Africa, and one of the most ancient, dating back to before the last Ice Age. It is located in Southern Rwanda bordering Burundi.

A uniquely rich center of floral diversity, the forest has more than 200 different types of trees and a myriad of flowering plants including the other-worldly giant lobelia and a host of colorful orchids. Nyungwe forest national park is most alluring for its primates: 13 species in all, including the chimpanzee, as well as ‘Hoest’s monkey and hundred-strong troops of the Angola colobus.

The most important ornithological site in Rwanda, Nyungwe forest national park harbors about 275 bird species of which two dozen are restricted to a handful of montane forests on the Albertine Rift. Avian highlight of Nyungwe forest national park is the great blue turaco – an outlandish blue, red, and green bird that streams from tree to tree. There are 270 species of trees and 70 species of mammals.
